Credit Recovery classes
Students often fail to earn credit in classes during the transition from junior high to high school. When a student needs to “recover” a lost credit, they have the opportunity to attend summer session.
This year students who need to earn multiple credits will be able to earn up to 3 credits in Session 1 through their regular school, and three more in Session 2 at Gordon Parks. Depending on student enrollment and staffing, each high school usually offers credit recovery in core classes (usually English, Social Studies, Math, and Science).
Students can find out which courses are to be offered at their high school summer session by seeing their guidance counselor at their home school. Parents who have general questions about Summer session classes at high schools may call Leslie Snow at 651-744-1336 for information. Questions about Session 2 at Gordon Parks should be directed to Gordon Parks staff at 651-744-1200.
