| Summer School Daily Schedule and Expectations |  | Each summer Middle School day will consist of three 2 hour courses. In 7th grade this looks like: one test prep math course, one test prep reading course and one elective course (which will vary by school). In 8th grade this looks like: one math course which will encompass both test prep and credit recovery, one reading course that will encompass both test prep and credit recovery and one elective course.
Expectations
Each course will be worth 1 credit. Incoming 7th graders will earn elective credits for their test preparation classes in Reading and Math and 1 for the elective course. Incoming 8th graders will receive a math or reading credit for the Credit Recovery/Test prep courses and an elective credit for the 3rd course.
In order to earn a credit in a course, students must:
- Be present at least 80% of the time, which means they will not earn a credit if they miss more than 3 days of class
- Must complete 80% of their work and must pass the proficiency measures with a set standard of accuracy.
- Students will complete formative assessments throughout the 3 weeks which demonstrate their proficiency of the materials.
These measures will help to ensure that students are learning the material necessary to excel them into the next year and pass the tests necessary to graduate.

OnTrack for 8th grade students
The summer OnTrack program is an ALC program for 8th grade students who have not met 80% of their credit requirements. This year the summer OnTrack program will be housed at Harding High School.
